Tamta Shamugia

Tamta Shamugia joined BLC in 2022 as a Junior Associate and was promoted to the position of an Associate in 2023. Her practice area mainly includes business & corporate law, contract law, intellectual property law, labor law as well as commercial arbitration and litigation.

Tamta has been engaged in legal practice since 2019. Prior to joining BLC she served as a Junior Associate at a local law firm in Georgia, where she used to advise clients and provide legal opinions on various complex matters, including corporate, intellectual property and labor law. In addition, she served as an intern at Tbilisi City Court where her main responsibilities included processing case files. She further interned at the Georgian Young Lawyers Association (GYLA) where she used to attend and support legal consultations with the beneficiaries on civil and administrative law issues.

Tamta has graduated from Tbilisi State University and gained Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, both with honors. Her Master’s thesis encompassed the challenges of modern technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) to the intellectual property legal framework.

Tamta has successfully passed the Georgian Bar Exam in civil law and gained additional specialization in Juvenile Rights (Civil).
