LEGACY
Built on vision. Defined by continuity.
BLC’s story begins with the vision of its Founding Partner, Alexander Bolkvadze, whose leadership has shaped the firm since its establishment in 2000.
From the outset, the ambition was larger than building a successful legal practice. It was to create a firm defined by exceptional professional standards, integrity, sound judgment and a deep sense of responsibility towards its clients, its people and the legal profession.
Over 25 years, that vision has become part of BLC’s identity.
Alexander’s international perspective has been an important part of that vision from the beginning. Following his legal education at Tbilisi State University, he pursued an LL.M. at the University of Notre Dame Law School and later completed an Executive Business Degree at the Yale School of Management. This exposure to different legal, business and cultural environments enabled him to build relationships across jurisdictions and to shape BLC with an outward-looking, international approach at a time when Georgia’s legal market itself was still developing.
Following BLC’s 25th anniversary, the firm entered a new stage of its development. In February 2026, Alexander transitioned from day-to-day legal practice to the role of Chairman of the Executive Board, where he continues to contribute to BLC’s strategic direction, governance, leadership development and regional growth.
The transition reflects the strength of what has been built: a firm capable of evolving, developing its own leaders and preserving the standards and values that have defined BLC from the beginning. That continuity now forms the foundation for the firm’s next chapter.
