Managing Partner of BLC Law Office Ketti Kvartskhava and the Head of M&A, Banking and Finance Practice, Senior Associate Rusa Tchkuaseli held a training for practicing lawyers of ALFG on Friday, November 22nd. Participants discussed the issues of settling investment disputes in the Georgian setting and globally. Speakers focused mainly on arbitration under ICSID as well as other methods for resolving differences between the foreign investors and host states, including mediation and in particular, the new Singapore Convention. Participants discussed the tools for protecting foreign investments offered by Georgia under its national law and BITs, deficiencies and recommendations on improving the existing investment framework.
