Teona Kareli joined BLC in 2023 as an Associate. Teona’s professional focus encompasses FIDIC Contracts, international procurement, state procurement, contracts of works/design/engineering, and bank guarantees, among other areas. With extensive experience on some of Georgia's largest infrastructure projects, she possesses a comprehensive understanding of claim management and its associated mechanisms, including Engineer, Dispute Board, and Arbitration processes. Her notable expertise extends to effective engagement with Dispute Boards, encompassing both the working process/negotiation and claim management, as well as successful arbitrations (ICC, Paris, France).
She joins BLC Law Office, transitioning from her role as the Head of the Contractual Provisional Unit of Legal Service at the Roads Department of Georgia. Her professional background involves diverse experiences, including engagements with esteemed organizations such as the Georgian Young Lawyers Association, the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, and the Tbilisi City Court.
Beyond her legal practice, Teona has actively participated in and organized numerous conferences, legal projects, and competitions, serving in various capacities such as a participant, coach, and trainer. Currently in the process of pursuing a Ph.D. at Tbilisi State University, Teona has built a strong foundation in law through her LLB at Tbilisi State University and LLM at the Free University of Tbilisi. Complementing her legal expertise, her master's in Construction Management further enriches Teona’s understanding of the intricacies associated with construction contracts.
